About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Equipment Operator, you’ll play a vital role in the construction and development of the Blackwater Mine, a flagship project for Artemis Gold, a wholly owned subsidiary listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. Reporting to the Supervisor – Capital Projects, you’ll operate a variety of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, graders, and more, to support the disciplined development of this major gold mine. This is a fixed-term, 6-month contract with a balanced two-week on, two-week off rotation, allowing you to enjoy both professional fulfillment and personal downtime.

Your work will take place at the Blackwater Mine site, located approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver. You’ll be working outdoors in various weather conditions, from rain and fog to winter chill, ensuring that safety and efficiency remain top priorities. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that received its BC Mines Act permit in March 2023, marking a significant milestone as it moves into major works construction.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Equipment Safely: Skillfully handle heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and graders, adhering to manufacturer specifications and company policies to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Prioritize Safety: Demonstrate leadership by enforcing Artemis Gold’s safety standards, conducting job hazard assessments, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings to identify and report potential hazards.
Maintain Equipment: Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, clean and secure equipment, and record all inspections in equipment logbooks. Report any deficiencies to your supervisor promptly.
Fuel and Communicate: Refuel equipment as needed and communicate effectively with your team and supervisor using hand signals and radio communications to ensure smooth operations.
Document and Report: Keep accurate records of equipment conditions and safety checks, contributing to a culture of accountability and excellence.
